Medical & Lab Equipment

Decommissioned imaging and analytical systems, from asking price to wholesale clearing.

Secondary imaging and laboratory systems trade on relationships, not public prices. Asking figures on broker listings sit well above what de-installed equipment clears for at wholesale. This desk documents the deductions that close that gap, line by line, so asset managers, remarketers and lenders can check the arithmetic themselves.

Deduction rubric

  1. 01Licence transferabilityOEM software and option keys that do not transfer on resale force a relicensing cost or a downgrade.
  2. 02Service and support statusSystems past OEM end-of-support lose access to parts and field engineering, narrowing the buyer pool.
  3. 03De-installation and logisticsRigging, crating, shielding and, for MRI, magnet ramp-down or quench risk are buyer-borne costs.
  4. 04Age and calibration recencyEach year of age and any lapse in documented calibration widens the discount buyers apply.
  5. 05Regulatory resale burdenRemanufacturing and servicing obligations under FDA guidance add compliance cost before redeployment.

Questions

Is this an appraisal?
No. Clearingwire publishes an indicative wholesale reference built from a documented deduction model. It is not a certified appraisal, a fairness opinion or an offer to buy.
Why is the clearing range so far below the asking price?
Broker asking prices assume a buyer who also pays for relicensing, de-installation, shipping and recommissioning. A wholesale buyer prices all of those in before bidding.
Where do the asking references come from?
They are dated desk reference figures for a typical configuration. Each teardown states its assumptions so a specific system can be adjusted against them.
Can I get a reference for a specific system?
Yes. Request access with a work email and your role, and the desk will run your configuration through the same rubric.
